WAIMEA — Stephanie Landers, RN, was presented with the Queen’s Award of Excellence by The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS) President and CEO Art Ushijima at a ceremony at The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu Oct. 19.

It is given to managers within QHS for their initiative, creativity, innovation and accomplishments. North Hawaii Community Hospital (NHCH) is an affiliate of QHS.

Landers began working at NHCH in 2004 as an emergency room nurse and later was promoted to house coordinator, which usually requires working nights and weekends, serving as the highest official on duty and responsible for ensuring the continuity of patient care services.

She also teaches a variety of classes, such as advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support.
